We would like to make all sonographers aware that the new registration period for any sonographers who wish to be listed on the Public Voluntary Register of Sonographers will begin on March 1st 2015. Anybody who wishes to be a part of the new register will need to send their details through, as the previous register is to be closed on February 28th 2015.

Sonographers will receive a two month grace period in which to get their details updated and added, and Professional Officer (Ultrasound) Nigel Thomson has urged all sonographers to get on the register stating: "Renewing your voluntary registration will help to protect the public and will support the ongoing bid for statutory registration. It is a straight-forward process and can be done online. There is no charge for SCoR members or those already registered with the HCPC or NMC."

As mentioned, registration is voluntary but recommended. The current register can be found at and details regarding the signup procedure for the new register will be made available at the beginning of March.
