The History of Sonographers Medical.
Sonographers Medical was initially established, by Kevin Rendell and Zaffar Ahmed, in 1997 to provide a superior level of service to locum Sonographers and to Private & NHS Trust Hospitals, in the specialist field of locum Ultrasound Placements. In 1999, as the result of popular demand, services were expanded to include both Locum Diagnostic Radiographers, Therapy Radiographers and Radiography Helpers.
In 2002, Sonographers Medical established an Office in South Africa. Here Helen Oehler, a South African Radiographer herself, acts as our Agent, sourcing Locums and processing their applications for work in the UK. This has been of huge benefit in streamlining our International Recruitment, and assisting South African Radiographers towards elligibility to work in the UK.
In 2003, Sonographers Medical were one of the very first Agencies to be included on an NHS Agency Framework Agreement, securing our position as a first line supplier of all Allied Health Professionals to the NHS for the following three years.
2004 saw the formation of Sonographers Medical Australia. The Australian branch is run by Angela and Murray Keats. Angela worked as a locum Sonographer through Sonographers Medical for two years before returning to Australia to get married and set up the Company. Sonographers Medical Australia provides locum Ultrasound and Radiography staff through out Australia, as well as processing applications for Australian healthcare professionals wishing to work in the UK.

In 2005 a similar Office was set up in New Zealand with the establishment of Sonographers Medical New Zealand. The New Zealand arm is run by Sandra and Richard Hellewell. Sandra also worked as a locum Sonographer through Sonographers Medical for two years, before returning to New Zealand to run their own branch of the Sonographers Medical, providing locum Ultrasound and Radiography staff through out New Zealand as well as processing application for New Zealand healthcare professionals wishing to work in the UK.
In 2006, Sonographers Medical was successfully awarded a place on the next NHS PaSA Agency Framework, for the supply of Locum Allied Health Professionals and Health Science Service staff throughout the United Kingdom.
Our continued expansion resulted in the need for new Offices, which we opened in early September 2006 at:

 Sonographers Medical are registered with Buying Solutions (formally NHS PaSA), as a registered supplier in AHP, HSS and Medic categories, guaranteeing both the quality and the cost effectiveness of our service.
Buying Solutions is the national procurement partner for UK public services and is an Executive Agency of the Office of Governement Commerce in the Treasury.
Sonographers Medical now provide placements for all Allied Healthcare Practitioners, Health Science Staff and Hospital Doctors, from the Shetland Islands to the Channel Islands, across the breadth of the United Kingdom... and beyond.
Following our inclusion on the list of Criminal Record Bureau CRB Umbrella Bodies, SONOGRAPHERS Medical is delighted to be able to offer Criminal Record Bureau Disclosure checks for other companies and organisations.
